Planning a trip to Genting Highlands and not sure where to Park? This is a valid question for any smart traveller, as Genting Highlands is a very popular destination with hundreds of visitors every day, and organising a trip to Genting needs a bit of planning. First World Hotel Parking is my first choice when I plan a roadtrip to Genting Highlands.
I frequently visit Genting Highlands and always prefer to park at the First World Hotel due to the convenience of getting in and out of the venue. Parking at the First World Hotel used to be free a couple of years ago. Recently, a parking fee has been enforced, which can be paid when leaving the hotel. The automatic payment machines are in the lobby opposite the lifts on the ground floor. A couple of years ago, the parking was free; however, with the opening of new theme parks and more visitors coming to Genting, parking is no longer free.
Please note: You must carry a Touch n’ Go Card for payments as the First World has enforced a contactless payment system. Make sure to have enough credit on your account before entering the parking. The maximum amount charged for 24 hours is RM 18.

Here are some tips for parking your car at the Genting Highlands Car Park:
- If you are visiting Genting Highlands for a day trip, I suggest you park at the First World Hotel. Once you reach the casinos, follow the signs to First World Hotel Parking. Genting is often very foggy, and you will find it hard to navigate in thick fog. The parking entrance can be reached by turning left once reaching the Casino Building
- Parking at Maxims or Awana can be challenging, as there is a considerable walk to the First World Hotel lobby.
- The multi-story parking at Awana Resort is often very isolated at nighttime and difficult to exit.
- Make sure to photograph the floor level of the parking in the First World Hotel or Awana Parking Complex.
- Remember to carry the parking ticket with you as the pay stations are often located at the entrance to the parking, which can be far from where you parked the car.
- Do not park in No-Parking zones to avoid your car being towed away.
New Tolls are introduced in Genting Highlands from 28th of May 2026. Here is the breakdown and some basic information:

Another alternative to avoid parking at the First World Hotel is to park your car at the Awana SkyWay Cable Car Station and catch a Skyway to reach the lobby at the Awana Casino and Shopping Malls. Make sure to be back before the time the Skyway stops operating. Alternatively, you can catch a cab or GRAB to the parking station for Awana SkyWay.

Make sure to record your level and zone before leaving your car in the First World Hotel Parking
As most casinos are located side by side in Genting Highlands, the parking for Maxims and Resorts World is also available if the parking is full at First World Hotel. There is considerable walking distance between the casinos, which are connected by several hallways and passages connected with lifts and escalators.

During my last visit in October 2024, I was interested in attending the Durian Festival at Awana Car Park and ended up Parking in the undercover car park at Awana. I left the casino later in the night and found it very difficult to exit as the parking ticket machine was not working. After fixing that issue, I was not able to figure out the exit to the multi-story building.

Where to stay in Genting Highlands, Malaysia?
First World Hotel: One of the most convenient features of First World Hotel is its self-service check-in and booking kiosks, which are perfect for travellers seeking flexibility. The automated stations located in the hotel lobby allow guests to book short-term stays in 4-hour blocks, making them an excellent option for day-trippers, elderly travellers, families with young children, or anyone needing a comfortable place to rest between activities.
Recognised as one of the largest hotels in the world, First World Hotel boasts an impressive 7,351 rooms, catering to millions of visitors each year. Despite its massive size and prime location within Genting Highlands, accommodation rates can be surprisingly affordable. Booking online through Agoda often provides some of the best available deals, especially during off-peak periods. For the lowest rates, consider staying on a Tuesday or Wednesday, when room prices can drop significantly. On several occasions, I have found midweek single rooms for less than $20, making it one of the best-value hotel stays in the region.

It’s recommended to book online in advance for over 40% savings during mid-week. The weekend rates are relatively higher for all the hotels in Genting Highlands.

Alternatively, cheaper options are available at Gohtong Jaya, located 4 km from Genting Highlands Resorts World Casino.
