Staying in Budget Hotel in Bukit Bintang

Months of travelling has finally paid off. $300 worth of credit in my Agoda online booking account. How good is that? I will be staying for a week free of cost across Malaysia. I decided to look for three-star budget hotels.

Last November I stayed with my family in Park Royal Serviced Apartments in Kuala Lumpur. I took time out to explore some budget options in the neighbourhood like the back street of Hotel Istana is walking distance from Jalan Alor and Changkat which is the heart of late-night entertainment in Kuala Lumpur. Backstreets are lined up with a large number of massage parlours, bars, restaurants as well late night local eat outs where you can find meals under 10RM any time of the night.

Great Reasons to stay in Bukit Bintang Area

Close to public transport

Bukit Bintang is the heart of night-life and touristy activities in Kuala Lumpur. If you want to avoid spending too much time and money on public transport, budget hotels in the Bukit Bintang area are obviously the best option.

Great Shopping

Bukit Bintang also has a number of top-end shopping Malls including Berjaya Times Square, Sungei Wang and Lot 10 amongst others. These massive shopping malls offer great shopping options, food courts and plenty of other services you will need when you are planning a couple of days stay in this area.

Massage Parlours and Day Spas

Jalan Alor, the night food street and a number of spa and massage parlours are located in the heart of Bukit Bintang.

Bars and Restaurants

Changkat Bukit Bintang and Jalan Alor are lined with a large number of classy bars, night clubs, cafes and restaurants. This definitely a great spot for the party and enjoy the crowds on the weekend. Be sure not to drive in the back streets as the traffic can get messy.

There are plenty of small restaurants that are open 24-hours and great stopovers for a quick bite.

The Mesui, A Budget Boutique Hotel in Bukit Bintang

I love this location. Mesui hotel is a gem of a place in a great location. Nicely tucked away next to Bollywood nightclub and Pisco bar on Jalan Mesui, it offers excellent boutique budget experience. The single room cost less than 140RM. The hotels' decor is quite modern.

Check Rates with Agoda

The rooms are decorated in very contemporary and modern style making the stay absolutely enjoyable as all basic amenities including wifi are provided on-premises. I am surprised some large 4 to 5-star hotels offers relatively average accommodation with a price markup of three times you are paying at Mesui.

How Do I rate Mesui

My Agoda rating and review for this location will obviously exceed 8/10. I highly recommend this property if you planning to explore the best places for shopping and nightlife while keeping the accommodation a the budget while not compromising the quality and comfort.

Beltif Hotel

I happened to stay for a night in Beltif hotel en route to other destinations in Malaysia. I decided to book a nice budget hotel near Jalan Imbi Station and Berjaya Times Square Shopping Mall. The hotel is located opposite to Furama Hotel which is a great 4-star hotel in the area.

The rooms in the hotel are small (28sqm) but clean and furnished with basic amenities, The hotel has a day cafe and restaurants and offers a basic breakfast from 6-10.

There is a nice massage parlour located next doors. If you are looking for cheap food, a Nasi Kandahar restaurant is located around the corner that is open 24 hours.

Getting to the airport is quite easy as light rail takes you from Jalan Imbi Station to KL Central where you can either catch a bus (costs 10RM )or use KLIA express train (cost 56RM) to KLIA.
