I have been exploring South-East Asia for over twenty years and have visited some of the best destinations in the region. Through my blog, I want to share some interesting travel tips, my experience of driving across Asian destinations and some of the best places to explore in this region. I have undertaken hundreds of road trips, across Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. Most of the information in this blog comes through my own road trips and adventures in the exotic locations I have visited.

I have, in the past followed in Anthony Bourdain's footsteps and visited most of the restaurants his team explored in their shows. Join in on my adventures and follow my trails on Instagram & Facebook Page.

malaysia mapMalaysia is the country of vast cultural diversity and a beautiful blend between traditional past and modern lifestyle. Visiting for the first time you will be taken by the sheer beauty of architecture, regional variation, a variety of food and a balance between various cultures. Inhibited by people coming through generation from all around the world, the country has grown into a melting pot of races including Malay, Bumiputera, Chinese and various other ethnicities. There are eleven states and two federal states ( Kuala Lumpur, Putra Jaya).

Langkawi is one of the top-rated and most visited destinations in Malaysia. Stretching over more than 99 islands, Langkawi offers a wide range of activities for visitors. A general impression of looking at the map of the island, Langkawi seems like a small island where various points of attractions that are easily accessible. Contrary to that, once you land on the Island you will realise the stretch of covered and various locations on the island cannot be explored in a matter of a few days.

Blue mountains can be seen westward from any high location in the City. Stretching across from Penrith towards inner NSW covering an area of 11,400 sq. km, this is one of the most popular locations to visit if you are visiting Sydney for a couple of days.

Thailand and Malaysia are the most visited tourist destinations in South East Asia offering great travel experience for families and solo travellers. Easily accessible by all major airlines, Thailand has become Mekkah for fun seekers looking for great nightlife, entertainment & beaches For families it offers great holiday resorts with fun-packed adventures, theme parks, beaches and many cultural & wildlife adventures including night safaris and visits to remote destinations in the country. Most sought after destination in Thailand are Bangkok, Pattaya, Chonburi, Chiang Mai and Phuket.

Alpine region located some 300 km north of Melbourne offers world-class ski resorts and great family holiday both in winters and summers. If you have a couple of days to yourself the best option would be exploring some nice towns and cities on the way. The region has some of the earliest European settlers which is visible in architecture, lifestyle and name of the towns as well.

Planning a trip to Malacca Malaysia from Kuala Lumpur? Malacca is probably the most visited tourist destination in Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur. Its easy access from Kuala Lumpur Airport as well as KL City makes it an ideal location for a day trip or a weekend excursion. If you are travelling with family, Malacca has a number of kids from all age groups.

Sydney offers a wide range of cuisine from around the world. Most tourist and visitors to the town tend to explore places near Darling Harbour and Circular Quay which is the most visited areas of the city. However, there are a number of neighbourhoods with quality restaurants in all price ranges. I have tried to short-list some interesting and popular restaurants by neighbourhood and proximity to the CBD. If you staying in Darling Harbour or CBD area, most of these establishments are easily accessible.

Singapore Zoo is one of the most visited destinations in Singapore. With three interesting parks located right next to the zoo, this location has become a must-visit the site for families travelling to Singapore for holidays. If you have more time to yourself you would want to get multiple passes to visit

  • River Safari
  • Singapore Zoo
  • Night Safari
  • Jurong Bird Park

Children under three can enter these parks for free. If you plan to visit all four locations a promotional pass valid for three days cost around $60GDG.

Ipoh is around 250km north of Kuala Lumpur. The driving distance from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh is around three hours. The freeway is AH2. The drive on freeways is quite good, however, keep an eye on the speeding motorists.  The overall experience of driving intercity in Malaysia is quite good. Watch out for the speeding bikers and commercial cars. People do not normally go by the traffic rules and over speed on the freeways.

Months of travelling has finally paid off. $300 worth of credit in my Agoda online booking account. How good is that? I will be staying for a week free of cost across Malaysia. I decided to look for three-star budget hotels.
