Oxford Street, Kings Cross and Surry Hill are the central places to enjoy the Mardi Gras Festivities. Taylor Square is the Central point where the Mardi Gras Parade started historically. This years Mardi Gras Parade will be held in Sydney Cricket Grounds in Moore Park.
Finding a nice place to stay along Oxford Street is the best way to enjoy the Mardi Gras. Easy access to the cafes, hotels, bars and restaurants and night clubs is the first priority when visiting Sydney for Mardi Gras.
I recommend CBD locations, as they provide easy access to most places of interest. I am based in Sydney and most of the recommendation come out of my own experience and city knowledge.
